Live sensors, learning models and immersive maps

The map as a real-time, intelligent surface: telemetry from thousands of devices, machine learning on imagery and spatial data, automation and chatbots over your GIS, and AR/VR experiences that put the data back into the world.

02Open-source stack

Real-time, ML and immersive on an open stack

Every service on this page also ships without Esri licences: PostGIS with TimescaleDB as the time-series and feature store, GeoServer to publish live tables and prediction rasters, MapLibre and deck.gl to render streams and detections in the browser, QGIS for labelling and automation, and CesiumJS for the 3D and WebXR side.

Kafka, MQTT, PyTorch, ARKit/ARCore and WebXR are open or platform-native already; what changes on an open stack is the GIS layer underneath them — and we build and support that in production.

Real-time

PostGIS + TimescaleDB

Hypertables for telemetry, spatial indexes for geofencing, continuous aggregates for dashboards — one database for position and time.

MapLibre GL JS

Live layers updated over WebSockets or SSE, with vector tiles for the static context — no per-map-load fee as traffic grows.

deck.gl

GPU rendering for tens of thousands of moving objects: TripsLayer replays, hexbin densities, arcs between sites.

GeoServer

Live PostGIS tables as WMS/WFS/OGC API Features for ATAK, QGIS and third-party clients, with GeoWebCache where it is static.

Models

QGIS

Labelling and QA of training data, model inference through Processing and plugins, and analyst review of predictions in the same project.

PostgreSQL

Feature engineering in SQL, training-chip catalogues, prediction tables versioned per model run and audited.

Immersive and automation

CesiumJS

3D Tiles, terrain and CZML in the browser with a built-in VR mode — the open route to WebXR scenes from GIS data.

OpenLayers

OGC-native 2D companion for control-room views and for embedding prediction and telemetry layers in existing portals.

03Why LiveBird

What you get that a generic vendor won't give you

01

Seconds, not shifts

Alerts and live layers replace the morning export — operators see what changed while it still matters.

02

Models that ship

Detection and prediction models are deployed into ArcGIS Pro, Notebooks or APIs with monitoring, not left in a research notebook.

03

Data back in the world

AR and VR close the loop: field crews see assets through the phone, stakeholders walk through the plan before it is built.

04FAQ

Common questions

Real-time feeds, spatial ML and immersive geospatial.

Velocity is fastest if you are ArcGIS Online/Enterprise-centric and want configuration over code. Kafka/MQTT with PostGIS and WebSockets gives more control and lower per-event cost at very high volumes. We build both.
